TRADITIONAL SANTA FE
400 years of history have shaped the traditional style of building in Santa Fe. This style of building served as utility for the early settlers of Santa Fe and continues in modern times. Santa Fe adobe dwellings have a coating of mud plaster on the walls, exposed wood vigas (tree trunks) used to support the structure, kiva fireplaces, and arched passageways. Traditional Santa Fe style is a symphony of textures, colors shapes and lines conducted amidst the harmony of Santa Fe’s glorious skies and light.
